Leucoderma is a harmless cosmetic
Leucoderma is a harmless cosmetic skin disease, which just gives white patches all over the body. But it gives a lot of psychological trauma with it. Most of the patients are depressed and they do not know what to do. The treatment for leucoderma is medical and surgical as far as allopathy is concerned. So when you see a new white patch, and you see a dermatologist for it, he normally puts you on medical treatment. Medical treatment for vitiligo is the narrow band light therapy or the examiner light therapy and inn addition we normally advise immunosuppressant, immunomodulators and steroids. With a combination of these, we can treat these patches and we can stabilize the rest. After waiting for about 100 sittings of narrow band light therapy and if your patches have stopped spreading, and if you are not seeing further pigmentation, then surgical option is advisable.
