The functioning of the STIHL 2-MIX engine

In the stratified charge system, a fuel-free cushion of air is inserted between the burnt charge in the combustion chamber and the fresh charge in the crankcase. This cushion reduces the fuel-ladden exhaust which means less impact for man and nature.
