Some companies that offer BNPL plans may charge high interest rates or fees, which can make the item much more expensive in the long run. Additionally, some scammers may pose as legitimate BNPL companies and try to trick people into giving them personal and financial information. Always research a company before using its BNPL service and read the fine print to understand the terms and fees.
3. Internship and job scams: These scams often target college students or recent graduates who are looking for work experience or their first job. Scammers will pose as employers or recruiters and offer students internships or job opportunities that seem too good to be true. They may ask for personal information or for money upfront, and then disappear without providing any actual work or pay. It's important to research any potential employer or internship opportunity thoroughly and to never give out personal information or money until you're certain the opportunity is legitimate.
