Richard Widmark was an American actor known for his roles in film and television. He was born on December 26, 1914, in Minnesota and studied at Lake Forest College before pursuing a career in acting. Widmark made his film debut in 1947 and quickly established himself as a versatile actor with his intense portrayals of complex and sometimes villainous characters. He received an Academy Award nomination for his supporting role in the film "Kiss of Death" (1947) and went on to appear in many other notable films, including "Judgment at Nuremberg" (1961) and "Twilight's Last Gleaming" (1977). Widmark passed away on March 24, 2008, at the age of 93.
