01- Ninu nera nammiti - Kharaharapriya Varñam - Adi - M Balamuralikrishna
This is an exclusive Varñam on Lord Ganapati, in which Balamuralikrishna succinctly brings the stories on Ganésha from mythology.
This is the longest composition of BMK and has 6 Charanams. The last 2 Charanams are even longer than the rest.
The Varñam might have been composed many years back, but in his later years, Balamuralikrishna added the lyrics (sāhitya) to all the parts of the Varnam. This sāhitya gave a lyrical expression to the subtle beauty of the svarās.
There is also an interesting fact about the structure of lyrics and the relationship with its counterpart – the svarās! The words or the phrases have been constructed by selecting the alphabets which would go with the respective notes that are long or short. The mastery of weaving a composition with notes and alphabets here, appears akin to weft and woof in making beautiful designs of a fabric.
