How to Fix Alienware M17x R3 black screen after accidentally bricked bios (A12 unlocked GTX680M)

Complete guide how to fix your Alienware M17x R3 black screen / blank screen with keyboard light on . If you have accidentally bricked your Bios, i had this issue when I messed by accidentally turned on enable internal graphic device and my screen goes black. I hope I can help other people who have the same fate as me. But don’t worry you can follow this step to revive your Alienware. It’s easy fix! (No need to remove CMOS battery)


First download A12 Unlocked Bios at eurocom

1)            Copy only 1 file fromA12 Unblocked Bios “PAR00MEC.fd” rename to “PAR00X64.fd” copy this file to FAT32 USB Drive, plug into eSATA/USB port.
2)            Removed Graphic Card GTX 680M and the heatsink FAN beside the graphic card (for my case, or older your GTX460M or GTX580M) , remove battery, remove power cable. (NO need to remove CMOS battery)
3)            HOLD “END” key on internal keyboard and  plug in power cable and the FAN will kick in and then system should have different type of louder and slower beep sound  (the sound can tell it’s totally different sound from the 8 beeps sound)  ,now  system blind flashing the BIOs until complete and maybe several time of reboot until the Power will automatically turned off  itself.  (this mean successful)
4)            (now the tricky part) it's IMPORTANT that you need to turn on system again without graphic card, then it start 8 beep as it cant detect the card but the screen will have backlight with blank screen and this mean successfully triggered. now turn off laptop
5)            Re-install back the graphic card GTX680M and the heatsink FAN (for my case)
6)            Turn on the laptop and wait. The screen should turned back normal now. (note, you can remove the USB drive after you can see your screen back to normal)
