Hobie Mirage Drive V2 Chain Cable Repair
If you have a failure where the braided cable pulls through/out of the chain end ferrule then here's a way you can repair it on your own. You will need some basic supplies that most DIYers already have (drill, bits, dremel, bits, vice). Now I did not have any silver bearing solder nor a micro torch, so that set me back $27. A new chain is $55 plus tax/shipping.
