You may have seen Konyaku in various dishes in Japan from Oden in winter, to salads and soups, or even on the grill or in the Sushi restaurant- but what is it?

This video takes you through the step s of making Konyaku (sometimes called Devil's tongue in English). It's quite a long process, but is quite interesting and fun as a workshop.

This workshop was done in the small town of Yuki-onsen, about an hours drive from Hiroshima city- please get in touch if you want more information on this town or how to book this workshop.

Konyaku making is a great example of a sustainable tourism product as the vegetable (type of yam) is grown in Japan and the whole process comes from nature and goes back to nature without any ill effects on people or planet while providing income to farmers and cooking lesson instructors and facility owners (helping the economy).
