The Ewes from the Volta
The Ewes from the Volta Region of Ghana and some parts of Togo have some unique cultural /traditional dances to their credit. Among this is the Akpesse/ Borborbor dance #edzordzinamfafali #borborbordance #culture
The appease dance is done by bending of the upper body and shaking the buttocks with beautifully calculated footsteps.
Borborbor or appease is danced at weddings, during festive seasons, funerals and other traditional functions. Even tho it is diced by both males and females, females are mostly found doing the dance as the males do the drumming, trumpeting and lead singing. #dance #culturaldance #africandances
The drums are made of woods and animal skins and the sound of the drum is determined by the size of the opening of the drum and how tight the animal skin is on the wood.....
