Freesat - Subscription Free UK TV
In February 2020, Freesat launched a new 4K / UHD satellite receiver, manufactured by Arris. This is the "non recording" version, with a recording version, with 500gb, 1tb and 2tb hard drives, to be released "later".
Back in March 2020 I did a set up and review of this new Freesat 4K set top box from Arris - Freesat Recordable 4K Set Top Box Set...
In June 2020 I decided to give the box another go, after a firmware update - Video - where the box became so unresponsive.
In August 2020, the box received another new firmware, so I tried to see if the remote control problem had been resolved : Freesat UK (Arris) Recordable 4K Set ...
In October 2020, I try the box again to see if countless reboots and factory resets can solve this problem :

We use only Official Freesat or Freesat HDR recording receivers – including the Freesat 4K Set top box
When we install a Freesat satellite system, we use official Freesat Set Top Boxes. Some UK satellite TV installation companies offer you an Iberosat, Ferguson Ariva or GI Galaxy Innovations satellite receiver, claiming it is a Freesat Set Top Box. These satellite receivers are NOT Freesat Set Top Boxes, but basic “free to air” satellite receivers. These types of receivers will NOT have the Freesat logo, the Freesat Guide, Automatic Channel updates, a full 7 day programme guide, or access to online “on demand” content such as BBC iPlayer.
Satellite TV is still the most popular and reliable way to watch UK TV in Spain.
Satellite TV is live and direct from the broadcasters, in full 1080 HD, Dolby Digital Audio channels.
Satellite TV will not be closed down by the authorities for being illegal.
