--Yes it’s true that University Grant commission has granted academic equivalence to CA qualification as postgraduate degree. Resultantly, CAs can peruse Ph.D. in all Indian Universities.
--Yes, a post graduate does means that you are a graduate too but hold on!
You are a grad or a post grad only when you finish CA, not before that. What if CA takes more that 4-5 years for you? You cannot start a masters like an MBA or go for UPSC etc after 3 years of your class 12th. That's a big handicap!
--In short CA Intermediate should have been but isn't a Graduation.
And this is where a graduation alongside CA gets mandatory.
--Note that if you leave CA course in between that is if you decide to just be a CA intermediate qualified, you lose this opportunity of graduation/post graduation.
--Hence in order to safeguard yourself it’s always recommended that you pursue graduation alongside CA course.
**Yes, ICAI has tie up with Universities & you can undoubtedly do MBA(NOT CAT), but remember that its only when you have already cleared the CA Final, not before that.
--Our Next topic Of discussion is whether you should go for graduation with a regular college, a correspondence and if a regular college, only a top tier is recommended or a non-top tier will do?
