In 2023, the American Heart Association asked Clevelanders to react to Big Tobacco's predatory marketing of flavored tobacco products to communities of color and youth. For decades, the tobacco industry has used flavored products such as menthol cigarettes and flavored cigars to hook their customers.  The results have been devastating, with tobacco linked to a third of all heart disease deaths and Black communities suffering the greatest burden of tobacco-related mortality.
