Join me as I satisfy my wanderlust by hiking this trail from Barnard Castle to Cotherstone in the North Pennines

This 14km route can be enjoyed all year around though I would suggest it is best enjoyed in the Spring and Summer months due to wet and muddy conditions
Starting at the grounds of Barnard Castle, the trail heads out along the River Tees and the path through the woodlands and beside Scur Beck before winding through the farmlands to Cotherstone.
Take care on the rougher sections of this trail, especially in wetter conditions when the paths become very muddy. Appropriate footwear is required. Care is also needed in the active farmlands where there may be livestock, including cows and bulls, along the paths. There are stiles along the way which may not be suitable for larger dogs. Enjoy this countryside route and keep and eye out for wildlife along the scenic trail.
