A look at the history and what remains of the former Threlkeld Station near Keswick, Cumbria.

The station was opened in 1865 by the Cockermouth, Keswick and Penrith Railway and would survive until 1972. Originally a single platform, this was converted to an island platform arrangement when the line was doubled in 1894.

The site of the station is now a depot for the Lake District National Park Authority, however a close look reveals some intriguing relics which have survived for over 50 years since closure.
