Despite Opposition, Housing the Homeless Goes on in Chico, CA

CHAT, the beloved Chico Housing Action Team, has been housing people who lost everything, since 2013.   However a monkey wrench was thrown into one of their most promising projects: "Simplicity Village".  A village of 33 sleeping cabins as temporary shelters had been approved by the City of Chico, CA.   But opposition to the village escalated into a lawsuit that CHAT decided not to spend its budget on.   Despite a signed lease and many donations to make the village happen, Simplicity Village has been canned for now.   But what's happening with CHAT in general?  How are they helping still people who want to get off the street?  Here's what Bob Trausch, CHAT's co-founder has to say.  Get ready to be wowed by what sheer determination can achieve.   WHERE THERE'S A WILL, THERE'S A WAY.
