Vinegar is an inexpensive common household product that has multiple uses but removing rust from metal should not be one of them.

Vinegar is five percent acidic which eats away at metal as well as rust. Evapo-Rust® contains no acids, alkalis, or petroleum solvents. Evapo-Rust® will not harm metals, rubber, plastic, PVC, Viton, un-rusted steel, chrome, rubber, plastic, wood, most paints, clothing, or glass so it is much safer to use. The video shows the pot metal dissolving in the vinegar after just a few seconds. Evapo-Rust® will only dissolve the rust and leaves the metal.

Vinegar has harsh fumes that linger even after it has been poured down the drain. Evapo-Rust® has no harsh fumes or foul odors. It is safe on skin, non-toxic, non-corrosive, non- flammable, and biodegradable.

De-rusting with Evapo-Rust® will provide 10-14 days of rust prevention depending on the humidity. Evapo-Rust® Rust-Block™ is a solution that prevents rust from forming on tools, hardware, equipment, and other ferrous metals that is simply sprayed on and will protect your items for even longer.
