A novel advanced camera system
A novel advanced camera system enables the detection and tracking of vessels. This improves the vessel tracking information for harbor operators. The current vessel detection systems use radar and AIS transponder information from ships. Radar sometimes has false detections and misses small ships, while AIS information can be purposely contain incorrect information. With the vessel detection and tracking system from ViNotion, the traffic monitoring and control system are improved.
The advanced neural network based image recognition system enables highly accurate localization and tracking of vessels in video. The system has been trained with thousands of example images, enabling robust and accurate localization of all vessels classes in any viewpoint and when partially visible. Moreover, the system works on moving cameras.
