How to Duck Gybe in windsurfing! The tips and tricks to make it easy.

In this video we will be taking a look at how to easily execute a duck gybe! For many this move seems hard and slightly scary when progressing on from normal gybes. But I will let you in on a secret... it's actually easier than a normal gybe (in my opinion)! This turn is smooth and allows you to easily come out of a turn with plenty of power, making it a good way to practice exiting your power gybes at full planing as well! Some of the key points to follow for the duck gybe (or jibe) are: 1. Speed as with all gybes. 2. Wide grip. The more control the better! 3. Rotate/duck the sail early on in the carve. The longer you wait the harder it gets! 4. When you grab hold of the clew, make sure to pull it fast and aggressively across your face and to the other side. (Extra tip: Make sure to keep the carve nice and smooth throughout! As with all carving moves.) I hope this video helps you and gets you around those duck gybes as fast as possible.
