A Journey of Monks to Inspire Hope | Papae Tudong
Dhutanga (known in Thai as "Tudong") is commonly observed by the practitioners of the Thai Forest Tradition of Theravada Buddhism. This scaled down version of Tudong or pilgrimage was taken by the noivices of Wat Ban Khun and international monks at the Papae Meditation Retreat in Chiang Mai thailand to promote hope and peace. This activity helps to build support and faith with the lay community.
Wat Ban Khun:
is a temple located in Chiang Mai, Thailand. It gives young boys an opportunity to ordain to become novice monks. Wat Ban Khun helps these young men climb out of abject poverty by instilling a remarkably high level of morality, discipline, respect, education, spiritual development, and so much more. The training they undergo develops these young novices into well-educated, hard-working, upstanding citizens with more opportunity after graduation then they ever could have otherwise hoped for. Pape Meditation Retreat:
