In part 4 of our
In part 4 of our AK history series, we talk about the Kalashnikov hand held machineguns. Essentially, the original RPK in 7.62x39 was an over grown AKM, with its later 5.45x39 replacement RPK-74 the same compared to the AK-74.
We begin with the development of the light machinegun, its production, and its use in Russia and around the world.
Example rifles include: a Russian Molot RPK, Romanian Cugir PM-64, Yugoslavian Zastava M72B1, Russian Molot RPK-74, and Russian Molot RPK-201.
