In this talk Sediq Mohammad discusses his career clearing landmines in Afghanistan, and how explosives remnants of war continue to cause significant civilian casualties throughout the country.
It was mid-1989 when Sediq joined the humanitarian mine action program for Afghanistan. He started as an instructor, and was then promoted to team leader for identifying, marking and recording landmines and explosive remnants. Sediq is now the director of Mine Action Coordination Center for Afghanistan. Sediq obtained a Master's Degree in Resilience from Cranfield University.
