How To Cut Gemstones - Iolite / Water Sapphire

Hello. I'm an Australian Gem cutter and I facet gems from all over the world. In this video you will see me facet "Iolite" / "Water Sapphire" from Tanzania. This is my first attempt at faceting this unusual gem. Unfortunately, towards the end, the girdle peeled off due to heat on removal. However, I learnt a lot about the complex nature of faceting this gem. Hopefully, other gem cutters can learn from such a educational video. Standby for future videos.
