Uncontrolled Low End Frequency is one of the reasons your Mastering doesn't get as loud as you want, when you try to push further than it is, it introduces distortion. I am sure you have this experience with Mastering.
Let us attack it from the root, one of the major courses.

Many engineers find it difficult to Mix the Talking Drum "Gangan" and most Audio Engineers still struggle with Low end frequency. You must make every instruments in this frequency communicate - the Kick, Bass, Talking Drum, Pot, 808, Sub ...etc
Irrespective of the genre you are working on, the principle remains the same.

The most difficult part of every mix is the Low End. If you can control your Low End, you'll have a warm, clean, clear & loud mix at the end and an enjoyable mastering experience.
