Visiting Arouca 516 bridge (the Longest Suspended Pedestrian Bridge in the world!) is NOT easy! Watch this to see how to visit it, plus find out what you don't want to do! Don't do what we did!
Ponte Arouca 516 opened in 2021, and there's actually a bit of controversy about whether it's the longest pedestrian bridge in the world! There's a bridge in Nepal that makes the same claim. The bridge in Nepal is a "simple suspended bridge" whereas the one in Arouca, Portugal is a "suspended deck suspension bridge." I guess they both win?
