We're getting closer to completing
We're getting closer to completing the storm shelter build. All the rebar blocks are in place, the rebar is set and this week, we're working on finishing up the concrete roof.
This is the first time since we started the build that I wish we would have bit the bullet and called the concrete truck. The weather here in Kentucky is in the upper 90's and the humidity isn't much lower than that.
Once the roof is complete, we'll let it cure, then take out the supports and forms; then we'll move on to the surface bon and building the door. The door will be a pretty big project...I'm not quite sure yet what my plans are for the build, but we'll start working on that next week.
As of right now, everything else on the homestead is at a stand-still until the storm shelter is complete. I did finish up the gutters, but most of our focus outside of the shelter has been on the garden that is producing more than we could ever eat.
