Power-sharing is set to return
Power-sharing is set to return to Northern Ireland within weeks after the Democratic Unionist Party ended a two-year stand-off with ministers over the province’s post-Brexit future.
In a critical agreement, last night more than a hundred members of the DUP executive endorsed a deal negotiated by the party’s leader, Sir Jeffrey Donaldson, following a five-hour private meeting.
The move means that the DUP will return to government at Stormont — for the first time as junior partners to the republican party Sinn Fein.
