Ismaili Anthem
Instrumental
JollyGul.com presents Ismaili Anthem performed by the Kaska Records Symphony Orchestra.
The Ismaili anthem was originally written, composed and performed by poet and musician Fazal Walli Nathoo Dilgir (1874-1960) who was born in Zanzibar and lived there for most of his life. Dilgir was a notable and prominent poet during Imam Sultan Mohammad Shah's time. The original Urdu lyrics were spiritually inspired and the anthem was mostly played at community events.
Over the years, under the leadership of our Imam-e-Zaman, the community has globalized and become much more outward-looking. Social intervention and action to improve quality of life for people everywhere has taken an increasingly important role in the mission of the Ismaili community. The instrumental version of the Ismaili anthem is now played at official and institution-launching events and is an important part of the modern identity of the Ismaili community.
Let us enjoy this composition and feel proud. We have all come a long way together. Yet we have to recognize that we have a lot further to go as a community. Let this anthem be our uniting song in the march ahead!
