When you're camping, would you rather have a swiss army knife or a bowie knife? That's how I feel about reviewing the Fender Acoustasonic. It's a stellar guitar with lots of utility, but is it really right for everyone?

What this question ultimately boils down to is simple: what do you need from your guitar? Are you short on space and don't have storage for multiple guitars? Do you want the flexibility of acoustic and electric sounds on one guitar? Can you compromise the purity of tone for ease of accessibility?

Now, don't get me wrong, ‪@fender‬has been making incredible instruments for decades. But, let's remember that their strength lies in electric instruments.

So, when there's an electric-acoustic hybrid that comes along, there's always a TON of interest.

Now, it's remarkable to note just how good this guitar sounds when using the most natural pickup configuration. It sounds very similar to a plugged-in dreadnought...but it's still missing some qualities. On top of that, if you go to the opposite extreme with the more Stratocaster-style pickups, it sounds eerily like a strat!

If you liked the Fender Acoustasonic, let me know by leaving a comment below! If I missed something in this review, be sure to let me know, too!
