Jiuyan Bridge is located in Jinjiang District of Chengdu. It was named Hongji Bridge in ancient times and Zhenjiang Bridge. It was built in the twenty-first year of Wanli of Ming Dynasty (1593) and was built by Yu Yilong, the then chief ambassador. It is a large arch bridge with stone railings and stone bridge deck. It has a length of 4, a width of 3 and a height of 3 feet, with 9 holes under it. In the 53rd year of Emperor Qianlong of the Qing Dynasty (1788), it was renamed Jiuyan Bridge by Governor Li Shijie.
