QUICK & EASY - Enable SSH and Setup Remote Access to the NEW SWITCH (Stack) - Using PuTTY & Real Lab

In this video I am going to demonstrates how to quickly establish SSH connection to a new cisco switch. SSH is the most secure way to remotely manage your network devices than telnet.

Here are the commands that I have used for the configuration:

1. Configure Hostname - network-tutor-1-access
2. Configure domain name - ip domain-name www.networktutor.com
3. Configure    vlan – vlan 225
                Name management
4. Enter interface config mode – int vlan 225
5. Configure IP for the interface/SVI - IP address 192.168.1.101    
                                                                                      255.255.255.0
6. Configure username and password - username cisco secret appl3b33
7. Configure enable password - Enable secret appl3b33
8. Enforce username/password combo - aaa new-model
9. Configure Crypto Key - Crypto key generate rsa
10. View crypto key that was created - show crypto key mypubkey rsa
11. Set time-out interval - ip ssh time-out 60
12. Set retry attempts - ip ssh authentication-retries 2
13. Enable SSH on VTY Line -  Line vty 0 15
  Transport input ssh
14. Verify VTY Connection - show ssh
