As the farmers refused to pay the rather high toll or octroi demanded by the sepoys, things escalated into a fight, and the farmers, in frustration, threw their fruits away.

From this heap of damaged and rotting fruits, a seed took root, eventually growing into a Dusehri tree that bore delicious fruits. Ever since then, the region has become famous for its delicious, sweet, and luscious mangoes that are prized all over the country and beyond.
