Pervasive societal ableism that is rooted in centuries of injustice and discrimination causing its multifaceted nature. It’s ideas are very easily produced, reinforced, and perpetuated by our social framework. We can halt this perpetuation by collectively shifting our conceptualization of the experience and lived identity of people who are disabled. Victoria Harmon uses this talk to discuss the importance of consciously challenging our framework and rewriting how we look upon disability.  Victoria Harmon is a student, activist, and community organizer. Within her studies, Victoria is particularly interested in the intersection of ethics, social philosophy, and feminist philosophy in relation to disability. As a disabled person, Victoria aims for a wider understanding that all bodies and minds are vitally important. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
