Maya Forstater is the claimant in a landmark test case, Forstater v Center for Global Development Europe, which adjudicated whether the protected characteristic of belief in the Equality Act covers gender critical beliefs. She founded Sex Matters and is a specialist in discrimination and gender issues.
Joyce’s 2021 book, Trans: When Ideology Meets Reality provides a searing analysis of the transgender debate. Helen Joyce recently left her position as executive editor of The Economist to work for Sex Matters, and brings a
wealth of knowledge about gender issues on both sides of the Irish Sea.
