In the video, I discussed the importance of writing good multi-threaded programs for optimal performance. I emphasized the need for correctness, fairness, and optimality in multi-threaded code. By using locking mechanisms and atomic instructions, we can ensure correctness by avoiding race conditions. Additionally, ensuring fairness among threads is crucial to optimize performance. Through examples of counting prime numbers sequentially versus using multiple threads, I demonstrated how fairness can significantly enhance program efficiency. By distributing work evenly among threads, we can achieve faster and more efficient multi-threaded programs.
