What’s The Best Steam Deck SSD Upgrade?

The Steam Deck is an amazing gaming device but the storage capacity really lets it down. In this video, the second in our "It's Not Rocket Science" series, we are going to demystify upgrading your Steam Deck by walking you through the upgrade steps, and show benchmarks for eight M.2 2230 SSD's so you can make an informed buying decision. One common complaint that most people have with the Steam Deck is that they rapidly run out of storage. The original base model launched with only 64GB of storage and even the new Steam Deck OLED devices top out at 1TB. With plenty of games now surpassing the 100GB mark this just isn’t enough. You could use a micro SD card, but if you do, get ready to wait significantly longer for games to load.  So what’s the best solution?  Buy a larger 2TB M.2 2230 SSD and upgrade it yourself.
