Taliban continues to grow in strength weeks ahead of complete US troops withdrawal deadline. Taliban’s rapid advances in Afghanistan has put embassies in Kabul on high alert. Biden administration is now sending additional 3,000 troops to evacuate personnel from US embassy in Kabul. US officials were reportedly trying to get an assurance from Taliban that they will not attack its embassy in Kabul.

US lawmakers, including Republican Senator Mitch McConnell, compared US retreat to the humiliating fall of Saigon in 1975.
