On 13 June 1997, a massive fire engulfed Uphaar cinema hall in Delhi where Sunny Deol’s Border was being screened. In the fire tragedy, 59 people were killed, among them 23 were children. “I miss my children every day. If justice had been delivered on time by the courts, I would have got some judicial closure at least,” said Neelam Krishnamoorthy, who has been spearheading the legal battle against the Ansal brothers of Uphaar cinema hall for decades now.
