This was really special for me, it’s their theme after all and in a way we can all relate. It was inspiring, So I made sure to give it more time and effort, “Burnout” and “Tadhana” were both done in less than 2 hours while I’m on my shift but as for this one I got too technical.
I’ve divided the video into three parts: The Intro, The Benjamin, The Philip parts. Cycles and Parallels of the relationship between the two are shown in the video.
The Intro - I’ve posted it on Twitter and Skyler Dee (@IanSDee1) asked permission to post my earlier draft for the intro. I’ve re-edit it with some of their lines that I can fit into that 20 secs. The intro is inspired by Cycles from Dark, going back to the beginning where the end is the beginning is the end. It also fits the first line of Baka Sakali, “Nung una kitang makita” as Benjie first laid eyes on Phil.
The Benjamin part is basically Benjie falling for Phil, as Benjie had more scenes falling for Phil so his part was longer. The Philip part is as you guessed it, Phil fallling for Benjie, it was already obvious that he’s falling but just like Benjie we didn’t want to assume.
Now, the Parallels of their relationship, I used the same lyrics of the song in the Benjamin and Philip parts to show some of it like in “Sabi mo ako’y sasamahan, hanggang sa dulo’y di iiwanan” - in the first part Benjie coming to Phil’s rescue whilst in the second part Phil visited Benjie to check up on him somehow saving him.
