Delnice is the center of
Delnice is the center of Gorski Kotar and, with 4451 inhabitants, it is also the largest place. It is situated in Delničko Polje and surrounded by the hills Drgomalj, Petehovac, and Japlenški Vrh. An interesting fact about Delnice is that it is also the highest town in Croatia, at an elevation of 698 meters.
Delnice is the center of the forestry and wood processing industry. Its favorable location on the major transit routes of Croatia has made Delnice into an important center of tourism, trade, and sports.
Delnice is an ideal location for a weekend nature getaway; nature trails, camping sites, and fresh air will make you reconnect with nature. There are several natural and cultural heritage sites under protection in its immediate vicinity as well.

1. Adrenaline Park Kupjak - zip line, sky bridges, archery, human-sized table football, splat master and many other things await you here. Adrenaline Park Kupjak is a must-visit when in Delnice, whether you're an adventure tourist or a family guy looking for a fun day with your loved ones. 2. Lokvarka cave - geo-morphological nature monument, this cave was formed in the thick layers of Jurassic limestone. You'll see beautiful stalactites and stalagmites as well as over 25 endemic species of cave fauna. A must-see when near Delnice.
3. National park Risnjak - located in the hinterland of the city of Rijeka and the Gulf of Kvarner this is a less-known national park in Croatia but not any less breathtaking. The basic phenomenon of the park are forests and the spring of Kupa River. National park Risnjak is also home to three large carnivores: lynx, for which the park got its name (Ris on Croatian means lynx), the wolf and the brown bear. 4. Kavran Rock (Kavranova stijena) lookout - if you're feeling adventurous, make your way to the town of Skrad nearby and climb up the educational and well-marked mountain trail all the way up to Skradinski Vrh. The climb takes about an hour and will take you to 1018 meters above sea level which will give you a view you'll never forget.
5. Zoo Delnice - if you're traveling with little children, mountain climbing might not be your best bet for a nature vacation. If that's the case, make sure to visit Delnice Zoo; beautiful nature, fresh air and a lot of animals for you and your kids to enjoy.
