What you need to know about the MBTA’s plan to connect the Red and Blue lines

Amid partial red line closures for track repair and ongoing slow zones, the MBTA is looking ahead at another construction project. The agency is holding public meetings for its proposed Red-Blue Connector, which would extend the Blue Line from Government Center to the Charles/MGH station on the Red Line in order to reduce transfers and travel time for trips between East Boston and Revere to Cambridge and Somerville. GBH News Transportation Reporter Bob Seay joined Crystal Haynes to discuss.
