In this documentary video I tell you the true story of Leonhard Seppala, his dog Togo and the Serum Run to Nome (Alaska). In 1925 several sleds pulled by dogs managed to save thousands of people from diphtheria after traveling over a thousand kilometers in just five days.
The Norwegian Leonhard Seppala, with the invaluable help of his leading dog, Togo, covered the most dangerous stage, which ran partly through the ice sheets that covered Norton Sound Bay. Although most of the fame was taken by Gunnar Kaasen and his dog Balto, Togo and Seppala also received some recognition and, in 2019, Disney premiered a film about his adventure, starring actor Willem Dafoe in the role of Seppala. #togo #balto # biography
