An amazing injectable practice starts with a good botox and dermal filler training course. One that you come out confident to apply skills learnt immediately and not confused.
A good technique when injecting botox results in safe and effective treatments with satisfied patients. Start with a stable hand position standing on one side of the bed. The needle should not float freely over the patient's face. Rest the non-injecting hand over the patient's face and the small finger of the injecting hand over the non-injecting hand. This stabilises the hand and prevents any accidental injury by sudden patient movement. The muscles of the forehead should not be grabbed, pinched or distorted. Try to leave the anatomy as it is. Procerus doses range from 5-10units and 5 units for each medial corrugator, inject deeply in the middle of the belly. If you inject the medial corrugator more superiorly changes are that the lower fibres of the frontalis may get affected adversely. For most foreheads inject 4 injections of around 2-2.5 units and then inject one 1.25-1.5 unit injection in between the two forehead injection but inferior. This is to prevent the typical "botoxed" eyebrow appearance. Crow's feet are simple to inject with botox. The superior injection has the ability to lift the lateral eyebrow which is the desired effect. Too much botox in the crow's feet causes the lines under the eye to appear worse. Hence, if crow's feet deep use normal injection doses but also recommend dermal fillers. One small injection under the eye in the thin layers of the orbicularis help soften these lines sometimes.
