ScotRail introduced a push-pull service Glasgow-Edinburgh in 1979, using Class 47/7 locomotives and Mark III coaches, with a converted Mark II DBSO at the Glasgow end of each formation. These trains operated for about 10 years, before being displaced by Class 158 DMU's. The DBSO's found their way to other operators. Locomotive Services Limited and  Intercity railtours now have a restored train, which operated a railtour round Scotland in February 2023. The schedule was:-
Friday 24th Feb. - Crewe to Edinburgh
Saturday 25th Feb.  Edinburgh-Glasgow-Inverness
Sunday 26th Feb. - Inverness-Aberdeen-Glasgow-Edinburgh-Crewe
I was hoping to see a fast run between Glasgow and Edinburgh, but according to Realtime Trains the runs between those two cities were delayed in the bottleneck between Haymarket and Waverley in each direction.

This film shows the train passing three locations - Blair Atholl, Blackford, and Lenzie, as well as a couple of shots from the 1973-85 period.
