Blessing of Holy Water

Holy Water, along with the New Fire, is blessed in the Catholic Church on Holy Saturday.  In this prayer, water is blessed and made Holy through the prayers of the priest, which include how God used water in Creation, how it was used throughout the Bible, and how water intersected with the life of Jesus Christ.  It is strewn about to the four corners of the world to represent its fullness.  Also, the new Fire intersects with the new water as the Paschal Candle is lowered into the Holy Water.
