Taroko(太魯閣) National Park is named
Taroko(太魯閣) National Park is named after the majestic Taroko Gorge, carved by the Liwu River. The park spans across several municipalities and counties, including Hualien(花蓮), and is renowned for its geological wonders, including marble cliffs, deep gorges, and lush vegetation. Established in 1986, the park covers an area of 92,000 hectares and features peaks over 3,000 meters high, offering a variety of trails and scenic spots such as the Tunnel of Nine Turns(九曲洞), Changchun Shrine(長春祠), and the Yanzikou Trail(燕子口步道).
Qingshui Cliff(清水斷崖) stretches along the coast for 21 kilometers and rises approximately 800 meters above sea level, making it the highest coastal cliff in Taiwan. The cliff offers stunning views of the Pacific Ocean and is a testament to the natural forces that have shaped Taiwan's landscape. The geological formation of the cliff is a result of orogenic movements and is composed of marble, gneiss, and schist, contributing to its unique and rugged beauty.
