bow legs correction exercises

1. Straight Leg Raises: Lie on your back and lift one leg up, keeping it straight. Hold for a few seconds and then lower it back down. Repeat on the other leg.

2. Side Leg Raises: Lie on your side and lift the top leg up, keeping it straight. Hold for a few seconds and then lower it back down. Repeat on the other side.

3. Clamshell Exercise: Lie on your side with your knees bent and feet together. Keeping your feet together, lift the top knee up and then lower it back down.

4. Hip Abduction Exercise: Using a resistance band, loop it around your ankles and stand with your feet shoulder-width apart. Keeping your legs straight, lift one leg out to the side and then lower it back down. Repeat on the other leg.

5. Standing Calf Raises: Stand with your feet hip-width apart and lift your heels off the ground, rising onto the balls of your feet. Hold for a few seconds and then lower back down.

6. Squats: Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and lower your body down as if you were sitting back into a chair. Keep your knees aligned with your toes and then return to standing.

Bow leg deformity ,Genu varum (also called bow-leggedness, bandiness, bandy-leg, and tibia vara), is a varus deformity marked by (outward) bowing at the knee, which means that the lower leg is angled inward (medially) in relation to the thigh's axis, giving the limb overall the appearance of an archer's bow.

Causes of bow leg deformity:
- Muscular imbalance
- Rickets, a bone growth problem caused by lack of vitamin D or calcium.
-Blount's disease, a bone growth disorder in the shinbone (tibia)
-Abnormal bone development.
-Fractures that do not heal correctly.
-Lead or fluoride poisoning.
- osteoarthritis

In this video we perform bow legs correction exercise in 2 phases

1.)Stretching ( Mobility ) of tight muscles
2.) Strengthening of weak muscles.

Weak muscles
- Adductors
- Internal rotators

Tight muscles
- quadriceps
- Gluteal muscles
- External rotators
