DIY - How I upholstered two side chairs for our lakeside cabin.
Follow my progress as I re-covered two side chairs for our lakeside cabin.
I purchased two used chairs from a local office furniture store. The wood and material were in great shape but the color did not match our cabin furnishings. I sanded the oak frames and stained them to match. I applied two coats of polyurethane to seal the wood.
I chose to upholster over the existing chairs since the existing material was good. I purchased the material online from the good folks at fabricwarehouse.com. I made patterns of the end panels and sewed the covers to fit tightly over the chairs. After stapling and reassembly, the chairs are ready for the cabin.
