Train : 22601 Chennai Central - Sainagar Shirdi Superfast Express
Locos : Tondiarpet WDM3A #16883 + #16853

From a hot and sweltering Chennai to a cool and raining Bangalore, it was a beautiful transient journey. On board Shirdi Express from Chennai Central to Krishnarajapuram in Bangalore.

The train was on time almost throughout its journey with a few minutes delayed arrival at KJM.

This was the only diesel hauled train to depart from Chennai Central. Post lockdown, it should run with electric locomotives.

The 22601 / 22602 Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station–Sainagar Shirdi Express is a Superfast Express train belonging to Indian Railways' Southern Railway zone that run between Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. The train covers the distance of 1,391 km (864 mi) in 25 hours 17 mins approximately at a speed of (55 km/h (34 mph)).

The 22601 / 02 Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Ramachandran Central Railway Station–Sainagar Shirdi Superfast Express runs from Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G. Sainagar Shirdi railway station (station code: SNSI) is a railway station in the city of Shirdi, Maharashtra state, India. Sainagar Shirdi is a railway terminus and belongs to Central Railways of Indian Railways. It is located at about 3 km from the Holy Temple of Shri Sai Baba Samadhi. Temple authority Shri Sai Baba Sansthan Trust runs free buses from the station to the Temple.

The 17.5 km (11 mi)-long Puntamba–Shirdi link, connecting the holy city of Shirdi to the Manmad–Daund branch line was completed in 2009. Work began in 2003. The new railway station, Sainagar Shirdi is well connected with many direct trains to different places. The Manmad–Puntamba-Sainagar Shirdi is a broad-gauge line which was electrified in 2011–12. Before this rail link pilgrims reached the town by road after alighting at Kopargaon, Nagarsol, Manmad and Nashik Road railway stations.

An IRCTC food canteen is present in the first platform of the station. This provides both in house sitting and parcel services. Snacks are sold by other vendors.
