It’s able to access transmission, engine, anti-lock brake, and safety restraint system fault codes helping you diagnose any problems. It’s also able to access eight different maintenance services such as oil reset, BMS reset, ABS bleeding, DPF regeneration, brake reset, TPMS reset, throttle adaptation, and SAS reset. Brands that can be accessed will vary depending on the make, models, and years. Opening the box, you can see everything is neatly packed.
First is the quick start guide for this scanner.
Then is the operation manual going further in-depth for its interface.
Now is the scanner. All the blue parts are solid plastic, while the outer black piece is a rubber case. This provides grip while giving the scanner some protection as well. This scanner is intended for professionals in the field as well as people working on vehicles in their driveway.
This has a 5” color touch screen which can also be controlled by the buttons to the right.
Under the rubber cover to the right memory card slot, USB C port, and reset button.
Based on the feel, the scanner is well made with a rigid construction. It’s easy to hold onto and seems to have surfaces on the exterior that are easy to keep clean. The diagnostic cable cannot be removed and has a protective cap. This scanner can only be used on vehicles equipped with an OBD2 diagnostic port.
Finally is a USB cable.
After I removed the protective films on the screen, there was more than one film on the screen. To turn the scanner on, press and hold the power button for 5 seconds. If the scanner does not turn on for you, then charge the scanner first.
The scanner has a 1500 mAh battery and only requires 5v to operate. TopDone offers a lifetime of free updates which isn’t common with these types of scanners. Typically you’ll either have a limited window or are required to purchase a subscription. It used Android 6.0 as an operating system which ensures quick operation. The screen is large and easy to view, especially in direct sunlight. I especially like the option of being able to use the control buttons or the touch screen.
Overall I am quite happy with this scanner. It’s extremely easy to use, the interface is user friendly, and this is a must have for anyone owning or working on newer vehicles. Easy enough to use for anyone working on their vehicles at home and has enough in-depth options for professionals in the field.
