The Orbea Oiz XC race bike has been completely revised - and we were able to ride the bike for almost half a year during winter training. The new features include a 67° slack head angle and increased travel of 120 mm - which immediately raises the question of whether this is still cross-country? MTB News tester Tobias introduces you to the new features in the video and of course answers the question of whether the new Orbea Oiz has become faster in the test.

As always, you can find even more details in our detailed test article on the Orbea Oiz 2023: https://www.mtb-news.de/news/orbea-oi...

What do you think of the new Orbea Oiz? Do you have any questions about the bike? Post them in the comments below the video or the article.

The Orbea Oiz has been a permanent fixture in the Spanish bike manufacturer's range since its launch in spring 2018 - it's the fast cross-country and marathon fully. Since its launch, the Oiz has only been carefully developed further and has not only impressed in our cross-country tests as a powerful, agile and, above all, lightweight bike. The last update in 2020 saved a full 250 g of frame weight and placed the Oiz at the top of the lightest XC race bikes.

However, cross-country has evolved significantly in recent years. Trails have become more selective and since the launch of the new Scott Spark at the latest, suspension travel has also increased accordingly: 120 mm is the new 100 mm in the segment. Orbea is also responding to this trend with the new Oiz 2023 XC bike: a slacker head angle, steeper seat angle and more travel for the same weight should ensure that it has nothing to fear from the competition.

As usual, Orbea offers the Oiz in three frame variants. The top models bear the suffix OMX and, like the slightly cheaper OMR versions, are made of carbon. The Oiz is also available in an even more affordable aluminum version. A total of eleven equipment variants are available - with prices ranging from € 2,799 to € 9,999. The new bikes have been available since the beginning of 2023. Over the last three months, we have also been able to gain practical experience with the new generation of the Orbea Oiz 2023. For the test, we were provided with the Orbea Oiz M-Team, which at € 7,999 is the second most expensive model.
